Here’s what’s open and closed on Christmas in Seattle

We’re in peak holiday season and if you’re wondering what’s open and closed on Christmas in Seattle, we have you covered.

As Christmas is one of the US’ 12 federal holidays, most government offices and some private businesses will be closed.

Closed

Closures on Christmas include banks and credit unions, government offices, libraries, Seattle Art Museum, Museum of Pop Culture, and the King County Water Taxi.

Some closed businesses include Pike Place Market, Walmart, Costco, Target, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and Dick’s Drive-In.

Keep in mind, if you will be driving around the city, metered parking will not be enforced.

Open

As for what’s open, the answer is very little. You may find that some larger chain stores will remain open for shortened hours.

Some stores that will be open with adjusted hours include Safeway and Alberstons. Both Walgreens and CVS will keep most of their locations open.

So if you have last minute shopping needs be they errands or groceries, make sure you do them on the 23rd as some stores close early on Christmas Eve.

Merry Christmas!
