One Canadian stay just made a list of Best Hotels In The World

We know that it’s been a while since you travelled, but do us a favour and try your best to recall your last real vacation. Of course, you remember the food, the weather, and the beach… but can you picture the room that you stayed in or any of the amenities? This week, the popular travel website Conde Nast Traveler, published its highly anticipated 33rd annual ‘Best Hotels in The World for 2020’ chosen by their readers.

Why is this so exciting, you may be asking? Well, considering no one has stayed anywhere in a while, it’s probably their most accurate. These are the places that stayed with people in a time when airport security was out of reach. Also, it actually included one Canadian destination!

In their list of 50, Hotel 71 in the heart of Old Port Montreal made #49.

The hotel opened in 2005 and is described as a “sexy, contemporary outpost” in a central location. H71 has a single Italian restaurant, lovely staff, and affordable rooms (compared to others on the list).

Hotel 71’s inclusion is especially impressive, not only because of the hotel’s reasonable price point but because it was listed among some seriously iconic stays like Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, Kenya, which made #45 and the ultra-lavish, Hotel d’Angleterre in Geneva, Switzerland, which was voted in at #23.

Yeah, she’s right up there with Louis Vuitton Staircases and freaking giraffes, guys. We’d consider that a hard win.
