Cliffside views you don’t have to work for? We like the sound of that! Old Baldy Conservation Area has a short hike with dramatic views that will make you feel like you’re on top of the world.
Located near Collingwood along the scenic Niagara Escarpment, this spot has some incredible vistas of the Beaver Valley.
A short 15-minute hike from the parking lot will take you through fields and forests, ending right at the edge of the escarpment.
This cliffside lookout is 152 metres high and offers valley views as far as the eye can see.
You’ll also have a great view of the village of Kimberley from up here.
Rock climbing enthusiasts can enjoy over 100 bolted climbing routes along the escarpment that range from beginner to expert level.
There are three short hiking trails to explore here that range from 1.4 km and 0.6 km in length.

Speaking of views from the top, you can take your summer adventures to new heights at Lady Evelyn Smoothwater Provincial Park.
Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater is a breathtaking wilderness class park in Ontario, and it’s home to the highest point in the whole province, called Ishpatina Ridge.
If you’re well-equipped and up for the challenge, you will get to enjoy panoramic views at an elevation of 693 metres.
That’s as high up as you can get in Ontario – yep, it’s even taller than the CN Tower, which is 553 metres tall.
There’s also the Lions Lookout Trail in Muskoka, which is a much easier journey that offers some seriously breathtaking lake views.
So, grab your camera, good hiking shoes, and some snacks for the road. You’ll definitely want to savour these sights!
