Toronto is getting a brand-new waterfront festival this fall

New festival, who dis? One thing about Toronto is that you can always count on the city to have a festival around the corner. The only thing more exciting is when a new festival is added to the roster. Water/Fall Festival will hold its inaugural festivities at the city’s waterfront, happening over two action-packed weekends.

Here’s what to know before you go.

Water/Fall Festival will run from Sept. 27 to 28 and from Oct. 4 to 5, and is completely free to attend.

“Locals and visitors are all invited to experience Toronto’s waterfront in a new way this Fall — with a trail of markets, events and art exhibits across a two km stretch of Queens Quay,” says Tim Kocur, executive director of the Waterfront BIA.

“Framed by the colour of changing leaves and crisp autumn air, the Water/Fall Festival will be a way to rediscover the energy of the waterfront through food, arts and culture experiences and live entertainment,” Kocur continues.

The fest will include a lineup of activities and things to see, including:

• Interactive public art installations (on and off water)
• Food and drink markets
• A “makers” shop
• Live music and dance performances
• Boat tours

Festivities will be spread out over various waterfront locations, such as Toronto Music Garden, Harbourfront Centre, HTO Park, and Spadina Pier.
