Spring 2024 has come and gone and June is nearing its end. With that, another National Indigenous Peoples Day has arrived and so has a variety of meaningful things to experience, see, and learn.

Celebrating heritage and culture concurrent with the Summer Solstice, here are just a few ways you can commemorate June 21st this year.

Dancing Cree at Kingsway Mall

A day to remember. This Friday, visit Kingsway Mall for an extra special event that will feature a spectacle of dancing, drumming, singing, and oral history teaching.

National Indigenous Peoples Day – Art Gallery of Alberta

This Friday, head to the Art Gallery of Alberta to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. In addition to tours and interactive experiences, the AGA will also be offering free admission.

Royal Alberta Museum – National Indigenous Peoples Day

A time to learn, listen, celebrate and share Indigenous resilience and excellence. This Friday the Royal Alberta Museum will showcase Indigenous voices and experiences with special programming. Activities are included with general admission which is free for Indigenous Peoples!

National Indigenous Peoples Day at TELUS World of Science 

This week, celebrate creativity and culture at the TELUS World of Science! With performances, a market, Tipi raising and a BBQ, this event will be fun and educational for the whole family.

Night Market at River Cree 

This week, attend the fourth annual Night Market at the River Cree and support over 80 vendors. Presented by the Enoch Cree Nation, this event will showcase a First Nation talent, so don’t miss it. It is, after all, the largest of its kind in all of Canada!

Alberta Métis Fest
