This Ontario park is part of Canada’s Boreal Forest landscape & is perfect to stargaze

We’re back with another outdoor escape right here in Ontario. And this time, it’s located in a remote spot making it the perfect area to stargaze or even see the Northern Lights in action. Part of Canada’s Boreal Forest landscape, here’s what to know about Nagagamisis Provincial Park.

Located hours away from Toronto, just off of Highway 631 is Nagagamisis Provincial Park. It is home to hundreds of wildlife, including more than 100 different songbirds.

According to Ontario Parks, this is often called the songbird nursery since it lies within the boreal forest region and hundreds of bird species rest here every summer.

Other outdoor activities include boating, camping, canoeing, and fishing.

End your day off at its sandy and clear water beach. There is also a full-size sand volleyball court in the day-use area, and a place to play horseshoes.

And to end the night, since the park is so remote, according to Ontario Parks, the dark night skies make it the perfect location to stargaze. You might even catch the Northern Lights here. It’s absolutely magical.

Though it’s definitely not a day trip experience if you’re coming from southern Ontario, you can experience car camping. There are three camp sites and prices begin at $34.25 nightly. You can review pricing here.
