A ‘MuchMusic Experience’ is touring Canada & here’s where they’re headed

In the early 2000s, there were few jobs cooler than ‘MuchMusic VJ.” Whether they were live on location or interviewing celebrities in the studio, Canadians grew obsessed and – when they began looking for fresh faces – were eager to send in their own audition tapes.

Who knew that years later, those who made it would hit the road to promote an entire documentary celebrating the iconic TV station titled 299 Queen Street West.

“With unprecedented access to the MuchMusic archives, ‘299 Queen Street West’ tells the story of a scrappy television upstart from the perspective of the VJ’s,” it says on the documentary’s official website.

“At the time, they had no prior TV hosting experience, were given no scripts, no direction and went live to air across the country.”

Interested in checking it out? While the documentary will be available for streaming on CRAVE this winter, several trailblazers featured in the film are hosting a series of interactive experiences across Canada where you can watch it on the big screen!

With Toronto, Montreal St. John, Charlottetown, Halifax, and Ottawa already in the books, audiences in the following cities will soon get the chance to watch the doc and get personal with director, Sean Menard.
