This BC resort was just named one of the top wellness retreats in the world

Let’s face it, when it comes to wellness and relaxation, British Columbia is a top global destination. The mountains, the ocean, the lush old-growth. Stunning waterfront resorts, exciting alpine adventures – the opportunities are endless. So when Condé Nast Traveler names one retreat in particular on their list of the best in the world, we don’t take it lightly. So if you’re keen on a vacation and a health reset, tune in to these top global destinations.

CNT’s list of the best wellness retreats takes readers on a journey from arctic baths in Sweden to health-centric resorts in Turks and Caicos, and everything in between. The BC resort that made the cut? None other than Mountain Trek Fitness Retreat & Wellness Spa.

A total health reset

Located in the village of Ainsworth Hot Springs, the luxury wellness retreat focuses on a total health reset. Their award-winning program is all-inclusive, inviting guests to “slow down, reverse the effects of aging, and feel healthy again,” according to their website.

Guests can participate in day-long nordic hikes and sunrise yoga classes, and indulge in a delicious food program curated by the resort’s on-site nutritionist and head chef.

“Everything here is targeted toward achieving optimal health, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be shoving kale down your throat, or scraping bark off the nearest tree to kill the hunger pangs,” says CNT.

In addition to daily hikes and yoga, the all-inclusive Mountain Trek program features a seven-night stay at their lodge, evening fitness classes, access to their state-of-the-art spa, three 50-minute massages per week, health and lifestyle workshops and access to their hot springs. Talk about the ultimate rejuvenation!

At just over $8,000 for a week’s stay, this resort is definitely not a budget-friendly staycation. But we’re sure the experience is well worth it – and this BC wellness retreat is definitely going on our own bucket list.
