There’s an epic glamping experience in this Ontario town & you can sleep under the stars

Along the shores of Georgian Bay is a small Ontario town that is known for its artist community and happens to be a glampers dream destination. Meaford is next on our list and if you’re eager to sleep under the stars and be one with nature, here’s what to know.

About a two and a half hour drive from Toronto is Meaford, a place that truly embraces its small-town charm and welcomes all with open arms. In any season, stop by and enjoy local shopping, fresh foods, live theatre, concerts and a gorgeous harbourfront.

According to the Municipality of Meaford, it is a four-season destination that has so much to offer – including glamping.

Spend a night or a few, inside huge luxurious geodesic domes. Per Visit Grey, Back Forty Glamping is a year-round accommodation business that is just outside of Meaford.

There are four domes to choose from, three being located along the tree line on wood decks that overlook the forest while the other sits on an open field, looking out over the meadows.

“In each dome, you can find a king-size bed, 3-piece bathroom, kitchenette, BBQ, heating/ AC, wifi, a private fire pit, and your own private hot tub. Each dome is about 70-100ft apart, all with privacy fencing,” shares Back Forty Glamping.

It is so popular that there’s even a waitlist to book a reservation.

This is a perfect option after spending a day in Meaford, exploring all the local shops, snapping pictures of the harbourfront, and enjoying its arts and culture.

But if not, a day trip is definitely in order.
