The first matchup between the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers went down last night, and things are already wild. But, one particularly memorable moment came from Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk, in a heated exchange with Oilers star Evander Kane.
Following a lot back and forth goals, the Oilers were clearly frustrated in the third period. And, following a scrappy play with roughly 15 mins to go in the game, Evander Kane and Matthew Tkachuk decided to exchange some words.

And boy, did he know what to say. The forward went straight for the jugular, referencing Kane having to file for bankruptcy before the start of the 2021 season. It wasn’t exactly eloquent either, as Tkachuk was clearly seen saying “Do you want some money?” to the Oilers forward.
Tough move, which Tkachuk followed up on by getting himself a hat trick later in the period. Sorry Oilers, but the taunting, at least for Game 1, goes to the Flames.
