This park has a ‘majestic’ forest that’s one of the oldest in Ontario

Peaceful nature walks don’t get better than this. Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park is located just 90 minutes outside of Toronto and it has one of the most beautiful old-growth forests in all of Ontario.

If you’re looking for an escape from the city noise, this park is the epitome of peace and quiet.

You’ll get to enjoy a serene walk in the woods with nothing but the sound of nature surrounding you.

According to Ontario Parks, this spot is home to “majestic stands of maple, beech, elm and hemlock,” which are among the oldest in Ontario.

The 1.5 km trail winds through the mature hardwood forest and it’s described as an easy hike.

You may want to pack a lunch to take with you because there are plenty of spots throughout the park for a picnic.

The park is located in the middle of the Peterborough Drumlin Field, which contains more than 3,000 glacial remnants, says Ontario Parks.
