There’s a free Hawaiian cultural festival in Seattle this weekend

Get ready for some hula performances! Live Aloha Hawaiian Cultural Festival is taking place in Seattle this weekend, bringing with it free performances.

According to the Seattle Center, the Live Aloha Hawaiian Cultural Festival will be on September 8th from 11 am to 7 pm.

The festivities take place at the Armory Food & Event Hall, Mural Amphitheatre, and Fisher Rooftop.

The festival is part of the Seattle Center Festál series, and it is free and open to the public.

You can expect the festival to share cultural roots and contemporary influences of Hawaii through music, hula, ono food, marketplace, workshops, and more.

On two stages, there will be performances by ​Arden Fujiwara, Al Tringali and Friends, Leo Aloha, Na Kamali’i a Kiele, and Na Hilahila. You can also expect to see ​Halau Hula O Napualani, Northwest Blend, Ke’ala ‘O Kamailelauli’ili’i, Aldrine Guerrero, Halau Hula Ka Lei Mokihana I Ka Ua Noe, and The Kahaialii Brothers.

There will be a Spam Musubi Contest and a raffle too.

According to organizers, the Live Aloha Hawaiian Cultural Festival “serves to promote and perpetuate the Hawaiian culture in the Pacific Northwest by enriching and strengthening the community and celebrating the arts and culture of Hawai’i. This free, family-oriented cultural event is a great opportunity for the community to experience Hawai’i right here in the Pacific Northwest.”
