A celebration of all things spring is coming to Toronto this weekend

The Legislative Assembly of Ontario is hosting a free spring celebration this weekend, bidding farewell to winter and hello to the season of renewal.

It’s been windy, chilly and even snowy in Toronto these last few weeks — showing no signs of spring. While I’ll give it to Mother Nature for blessing us with a few warmer days here and there, it still feels less like spring than we had hoped.

So here’s to keeping our fingers crossed for April 25, 2026, as that’s when the Legislative Assembly of Ontario’s Spring Celebration kicks off. Expect a free, fun-filled day at one of Ontario’s most iconic landmarks.

What to expect

This family-friendly event will welcome the public, both indoors and outdoors, to enjoy a day of spring-themed activities and live entertainment.

Hop around the lively bubble zone and practice your swing with mini golf. There’s also a baseball pitching cage, an inflatable bouncy house, lawn games, and hands-on crafts, too.

Now for performances, you’re in for some fantastic local talent. Enjoy performances by:

  • The Sidewalk Crusaders band
  • The singer-songwriter/showman Kip James
  • The hilarious balloon-twisting and juggling Simon Says Show
  • Japanese Yosakoi dancers of Sakuramai Toronto

Oh, and keep your eyes peeled for a roaming blue butterfly stilt walker and a special visit from Peter Rabbit.

The fun doesn’t end there. The tulips and cherry blossoms are expected to be in bloom, so be sure to snap lots of pictures.

“While you’re here, take a self-guided tour to marvel at the art and architecture of Ontario’s Parliament and see where provincial laws are made in the historic legislative Chamber,” shares the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.

Hungry? Get your hunger in check with some snacks and refreshments at the Quorum Café.

There’s lots to see and definitely lots to enjoy. So if you needed a little reminder that it’s officially spring, a day filled with celebration doesn’t sound too shabby.
