“Welcome to my nightmare”: Toronto’s legendary haunted castle is almost ready to spook you

The spookiest time of the year is only a few weeks away and that means Toronto’s beloved haunted castle will soon welcome guests to face their worst nightmares. Casa Loma’s Legends of Horror returns, along with its Zombie Apocalypse, this September. Are you ready for it?

It’s back and bigger than ever before! Now in its eighth year, Casa Loma will transform into what nightmares are made of and celebrate all things Halloween starting September 29th.

Walk, if you dare…. along its two-kilometre outdoor walking trail that guides you through the ultimate darkness, past horrifying animatronics, and some of the most haunted spaces you can imagine.

Walk past ghoulish characters as you make your way through the lower gardens of the property, inside Sir Henry Pellatt’s rat-infested, dimly lit tunnels under the street, and into the grounds “haunted” stables.

In addition to its terrifying walking trail, its Zombie Apocalypse attraction returns this year, too. And it just so happens to be located in an abandoned facility south of Casa Loma at 175 Kendal Avenue.

These two, newly re-imagined events are sure to spook you to your core.

Halfway through your adventure, you may need to recharge, possibly with some liquid courage. Stop by the Captain Morgan Bar and Lounge within the castle’s Glass Pavilion for some themed bar and beverage options.

The Lounge is open throughout the remaining calendar program — for all patrons — offering the scariest and spookiest of refreshments, to chill and quiet the soul on their journey.

“We have added some terrifying new surprises in this year’s production, and guarantee an unparalleled experience for all ages,” said Nadia Di Donato, vice president and creative director, Liberty Entertainment Group.

“Each year we go bigger and bolder, and we believe that our show will thrill, chill, disturb and delight, offering a distinct experience on each visit. We promise an evening full of phantasmagorical and freaky fun, and quite simply, the best Halloween experience in the city.”

Ticket Info

Tickets for both experiences go on sale at midnight on September 1st at the Casa Loma website.

Standard hours begin at 7 PM to late for $50 online, and family hours from 5 PM to 6:30 PM are priced at $40 online. If you buy tickets in person, it is an additional $5.

From October 13th to 31st, tickets are priced at $55 online for standard and $50 online for family. The additional $5 charge applies here as well if you purchase in person.

There is also a new VIP experience that includes admission for two people, VIP entry, food and drink vouchers (one per person), and a gift bag, all for $160 until October 12th. After that, until October 31st, it is $210.

It’s about to get spooky.
