Vancouver’s last 6 p.m. sunset of the year is coming up this weekend

October has blessed Vancouver with some gorgeous fall weather, at least in the first half of the month. As it comes to a close, however, we’re in for far wetter, colder days ahead. It’s hard to believe, but the last 6 p.m. sunset of the year is already coming up this weekend, which means it won’t be long before daylight saving time ends. Before we “fall back,” it’s a good idea to enjoy the evening daylight while we still have it, whether it’s pouring or not.

6 p.m. doesn’t feel like an especially late sunset, but after months of 4 p.m. sunsets this fall and winter, it’ll feel like a dream.

When is Vancouver’s last 6 p.m. sunset?

According to Time and Date, Vancouverites can enjoy 6 p.m. (or later) sunsets until Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, when the local sunset time is 6 p.m. exactly.

After that, the sun will begin setting at 5:58 p.m., until it reaches 5:50 p.m. on Nov. 1, 2025. The next day, we officially “fall back” an hour, which means the sun will set at 4:48 p.m.

Rain, rain, and more rain

It looks like Vancouver is making up for all the sunshine we had in September and early October. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) forecasts sporadic showers and periods of heavy rain throughout the weekend and well into next week, though the forecast for Halloweekend is not yet out — so there’s still hope there.

Stay tuned for any changes in the forecast as they come, and soak up those 6 p.m. sunsets!
