The Khatsahlano Street Party is back this summer & here’s what’s new

It’s a great day for summer lineup announcements, Vancouver! The Khatsahlano Street Party is back and better than ever after a two-year hiatus, and the street party’s lineup just dopped.

Fortunately, we’ve got the deets here. The 10-block music and arts fest will feature 50 local bands and all the food trucks you know and love.

What’s new?

In addition to all the summer fun we’ve been missing, the street party will also include pop-up weddings. That’s right, you can catch a glimpse of couples saying their “I do’s” at the largest music and arts festival in Vancouver!

Love at Khats with Weddings will be arranging 8 nuptials, so keep an eye out – and maybe bring some pocket tissues.

Also new this year is the Host Nations Pavillion, created in partnership with the Museum of Vancouver. Members of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tseil-Waututh Nations will demonstrate basket weaving techniques, carving lessons, and more. Plus, there will be an opportunity for guests to paint on a huge paint-by-number canvas with Paintillio.

You can take group pictures at any of the Celebration Photo Stations scattered throughout the festival. Celebrate the theme of this year’s street party, #MakingUpForMissingOut!

What’s playing?

Now, for the music. Zulu Records, a West 4th community staple, has created the ultimate street party playlist, including Haley Blais on the Burrard Stage, punk-rockers ACTORS on the MacDonald Stage, and much more.

Sarah Mclaughlin School of Music, Music with Marnie and Matt Henry are among the family-friendly performers to take the stage at Khats.
