Circus performers, food trucks & a beer garden: Sunfest returns to Calgary’s Inglewood this month

After a long wacky winter, the warmer season is finally here and with it – more events than we can count! Luckily, as a city – our only job is to attend as many of them as we can and you bet your bottom dollar we’ll be checking out the Inglewood Sunfest – a colourful summer festival and market in the heart of Calgary.

With bouncy castles, local bands and deep-fried eats, this unique celebration will feature festival favourites and something new for 2022.

While it’s not unusual for Sunfest to host performers, this year guests can watch in awe as European-style circus performers and comedians take to one of four outdoor stages.

“After the last two years we realized that Calgarians are craving unique in-person experiences and frankly a good laugh,” said Inglewood Sunfest Event Producer, Jennifer Rempel in a press release.

“Circus acts and talented entertainers are always what make Sunfest such an extraordinary family-friendly event so we decided to expand our programming to include everything from International circus artists to dance groups and of course set the stage for many of our favourite local singers and musicians.”

In addition to these incredible acts, attendees will also be able to shop over 200 vendors selling food, clothing, and jewelry or will be able to check out the family-friendly beer garden.

if you’re interested in checking out the many activities from the car show and the market to performances and food trucks – it all kicks off on Saturday, July 30th.

The best part is that it’s totally FREE to attend, so don’t miss out!

It’s going to be a hoot.
