Toronto’s new IKEA store & Swedish food experience opens this month

Attention, shoppers. The new IKEA Scarborough Town Centre store is all set to open its doors this month and customers who show up early will have the chance to win a free $100 gift card!

The grand opening will take place at 9 AM on Wednesday, August 23rd.

With 7,489 square meters of retail space, the new IKEA at Scarborough Town Centre will have over 2,500 items all in one place — and a Swedish foodie experience too!

The store will have showrooms for small-space living, digital shopping tools, two separate entrances/exits, and two checkout lanes.

Oh, and let’s not forget the delicious Swedish Deli food experience, featuring classic and contemporary Swedish delights like the iconic meat balls, veggie hot dogs, and frozen yogurt.

In the words of Odette Walker, the Market Manager at IKEA Scarborough Town Centre, “Every detail was created with the unique needs of Scarborough residents in mind.”

Customers who line up before doors open will receive gift card prizes. All you have to do is line up and sign up for the free IKEA Family loyalty program — all the details can be found here.

You must be in line between 7 AM and 8:15 AM at entrance 5 of the new store. Be prepared to show proof of your membership and you’ll be given a raffle ticket for the gift card giveaway.

The contest draw will be held at 8:20 AM on the morning of the grand opening. And it’s worth noting that the lineup will move inside the mall at 8 AM. Also, overnight lineups are not allowed.
