Here’s where you can find & explore stunning ice caves near Seattle this winter

Washington has a great deal of amazing caves that you can explore, but few of them are accessible in the winter. Don’t despair though because Washington also has ice caves. Seriously, what doesn’t our state have? Here are two stunning ice caves that you can explore in Washington this winter.

Big Four Ice Caves

Big Four Ice Caves are probably Washingtons most well known ice caves and are popular year round. The caves are 3,168 feet long and located at the base of Big Four Mountain. You can use the Big Four Ice Trail to access them year round.

The caves are best admired from the outside and the WTA states to “never go into or climb on top of the Ice Caves.”

Remember to use caution when exploring anything in nature, especially in winter. It’s important to be prepared, bring the right gear and know when it’s time to turn back. With that, enjoy the beautiful ice caves of Washington.
