The only thing better than an icy, cold slushy in summer is a boozy slushy. So thank heavens for Sled Dogs and Slush Pups, our fave summer drinks at Hudsons Canada’s Pub. The popular Calgary pub has brought back its iconic Sled Dog hard slush, and also introed a spiked bubbly slushy, which they aptly named Slush Pups.
In case you haven’t already given these delicious beauts a try, a Sled Dog is basically 10 oz of one of Hudsons’ beers, ciders or coolers on tap mixed with 1 oz of liquor and topped with ice-cold slush.
These lip-smacking drinks come in a variety of categories and flavours that you can choose from. In fact, you could even build your own Sled Dog with the alcohol of your choice! Although, we strongly recommend trying one of their limited edition Sun Dog flavours— Pineapple Vodka, Strawberry Blonde Ale and Strawberry Slush.
As for their Slush Pups, these are milder, bubbly versions of Sled Dogs. Replace the beer, cider or cooler with pop, add an ounce of liquor and, of course, top it with slush.
You can enjoy these in two cleverly named flavours— Fuzzy Pup and Berry Good Pup (love that name play).
The best part is that the pub is currently running a contest where you can win a dog sledding getaway to the Rockies.
