Red Hot: How to secure a spot in the free Red Lot for Flames games

If there’s one spot in Calgary that’s become synonymous with Flames playoffs games, it’s the Red Lot. Located just outside the Saddledome, the free watch party is ‘selling out’ just as fast as actual tickets. Miss the boat this morning? That’s ok, we’re here to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Originally an open access viewing party, the Flames had to turn it into a ‘ticketed’ event to deal with the ever-growing crowd size. Now, fans will need to reserve their spot in the Red Lot before each game, are limited to 2 per person, and understand that the tickets are non-transferable.

So yeah, it might take a little bit of planning to go with a big group of friends. Even still, the Flames have been releasing Red Lot tickets at 9AM MST each game day. Just in case things change, though, we highly recommend checking in via social media the night before, just to make sure. It never hurts to be prepared!

And of course, we’re going to be keeping a careful eye on any changes to the plan as well. Good luck for Friday, folks!
