Ontario’s longest snow tubing hill is near Toronto and here’s what to know

What a snowy week it’s been in Ontario! The conditions are perfect for winter activities like skiing, snowboarding and tubing. That being said, Ontario’s longest snow tubing hill opens for the season this week, and needless to say, we’re ready for this winter adventure.

The snow is just right for your planned winter activities at Horseshoe Resort, now open for the season. Just an hour north of Toronto, you’ll find the perfect winter getaway destination, offering the best (and longest) tubing hill in Ontario.

Where is Ontario’s longest snow tubing hill?

This family-friendly Ontario ski and golf resort is located at 1101 Horseshoe Valley Rd. W. in Barrie, Ont.

It features 28 Alpine ski and snowboard runs, 30 km of double track set Nordic trails, a terrain park, golfing, a man-made lake, snow tubing, snowshoeing, indoor and outdoor pools, and so much more.

Though you may feel inclined to try out fat biking, we’re here for the snow tubing! Either way, you’re in for an adventure.

What to expect

The hill features five long chutes that end in a slight bump, so you can catch some air for that thrill experience. It’s over 600 metres long.

All ages are welcome to zoom down this massive hill, as long as you’re at least 3’6″ and you’re wearing the proper winter footwear.

Children under 10 years old must have an adult present at the hill while they’re tubing. It’s also important to note that Helmets are recommended but not required, and rentals are available.

How much does it cost to go down the hill?

Depending on the time and day you visit Horseshoe Valley, the pricing differs. Tickets start at $26+tax, and can go up to $55 closer to the holidays.

Though the ski hills and skating are now available to enjoy, snow tubing at Horseshoe Valley begins on Dec. 12, 2025.
