There’s a waterfall in the middle of this Ontario village

There’s a quaint village in Ontario known for popular annual events, but the real gem is what you find in its downtown park. In the heart of Holstein, Ont.’s downtown park, a picturesque waterfall cascades into a peaceful oasis, offering a breathtaking escape from the ordinary.

Next stop: Holstein, Ont.

Located in Grey County, about two hours away from Toronto, is the little village of Holstein. Here you’ll find some of the county’s most popular events. That includes the Holstein Maplefest, Holstein Rodeo Expo and the famous Holstein Non-Motorized Santa Claus Parade, according to Visit Grey.

It’s also considered “the heart horse & buggy country.” There are traditional Mennonite Buggy rides, which are a must if you’re in the area. These buggy rides offer a charming glimpse into a simpler way of life.

Stop by the Holstein General Store, the Olde Schoolhouse Gallery or play a few rounds at the Mount Forest Golf Club.

But the showstopper is Holstein Dam Falls.

Chasing waterfalls

Per Visit Grey, Holstein Dam Falls flows over the dam from the mill pond on Norman Reeves Creek. These falls are located in Holstein Jubilee Park, in Downtown Holstein.

“The Park has viewing areas for the waterfall, dam and mill pond,” shares Visit Grey.

“The best view of the waterfalls is from just downstream of the falls at the entrance to the Park. You can also peer down on the waterfall from the old railway trail that runs along the top of the dam.”

While exploring the park, you’ll find plenty of ways to enjoy the great outdoors. There’s a pavilion, a ball diamond, playground equipment and walking trails to explore. On a perfect day, it’s the ideal spot to soak up the fresh air and unwind.

This breathtaking natural wonder is one you simply can’t pass up, where stunning views meet the serenity of the great outdoors.
