Here’s where you can go on Christmas-themed train rides near Toronto

The holiday season is sneaking up on us and if you’re ready to dive head-first into all things festive, you can board one of the many holiday train rides near Toronto this November and December.

York-Durham Heritage Railway has filled its schedule with all kinds of Christmas-themed train rides and passengers of all ages are in for a treat.

Among the most popular ones is The North Pole Light UP Express, which runs on several dates throughout the holiday season.

The night begins with a Christmas tree lighting, followed by chocolate milk and cookies on board with Mrs. Claus and Santa’s helpers as you journey to the North Pole. Plus, you get to dress in your PJs!

There’s also the Pancake Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus, where guests will get to enjoy a delicious meal accompanied by carols and a special gift from Santa for each child. Sorry, grown-ups!

You can also board the Santa Express Train Ride, which tends to sell out quickly. This event is all about Santa, so if you want some quality time with the Big Guy, have your wish list ready!

If you’re looking for something a little more grown up, there’s also the 19+ Murder at the Christmas Station dinner, which comes with a four-course meal, live music, costumed characters, and a fun-filled night of mystery games.

Those with a flair for sophistication will enjoy the Victorian Christmas Tea — A Dickensian service. Prepare for a white glove Christmas tea experience with delightful music and views of the rolling countryside outside of your window.

Finally, there’s the Bethlehem Express The Nativity on Rails, which is a one-hour performance that takes you back in time to Bethlehem and brings the story of Christmas to life.

These train ride experiences are running on select dates throughout the holiday season and you can see the full schedule right here.
