Working at a holiday destination is probably a dream we’ve all had at some point. That dream seems to be popping in our heads more often than ever now that we’ve finally walked out of the lockdown. Lucky for us Torontonians our go-to all-season holiday destination is now hiring. Hello Blue Mountain Resort!

The resort posted a line-up of full-time, part-time, and seasonal jobs. We quickly scrolled through the current openings and good news y’all, there are plenty of options! From housekeeping, F&B, and outdoor jobs (lifts, snowmaking, etc.) with flexible shifts including Monday to Friday, a midday shift (9am -2pm) or even an after school shift (3pm -6pm), they’re open to a very diverse lot of applicants- those who want to ditch their 9 to 5 job for a passion-driven career, those who want to enjoy the destination with a side hustle while wfh-ing and those on the hunt for jobs and seasonal gigs.

Blue Mountain Resort has an array of full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs spread throughout the neighbouring areas. It’s not just the type of job but also the nature of it that is varied. From business account managers to cooks & bartenders and from recreational attraction managers to snowmakers, there are jobs for many skills and personalities.

While people go there for the job, they stay there for the work culture that thrives on mutual support, diversity, inclusivity and equal opportunity. Plus, the hiring always starts internally which gives employees room to grow.

Live

Let’s see- you get to live amidst breath-taking, awe-inducing views all year round, you get to live the adorable small-town charm AND you get the time to actually enjoy all the amazing views and adventures the place has to offer. No wonder people living here never want to move out or move back.

Then there is also the matter of the affordable cost of living. You get staff-priced meals and Starbucks treats and staff room rates at every hotel. There’s also co-ed accommodation in case you need one. You can check out more about the accommodation sitch here.

Ah! Our favourite part. It’s kind of obvious that anyone who wants to live and work here has immense love for the great outdoors, irrespective of the season. And being an employee at The Blue opens unbelievable discounts for you. There are discounted attraction tickets and pass benefits that extend to your family and friends as well. Then there’s free equipment rental and most importantly, a free pass to ski and snowboard at the 14 Alterra Mountain Company-owned destinations. Yes, our jaws had dropped open too!

What we are deducing from all the info that we got our hands on is that if you’re working at the Blue Mountains, you are either 1) getting paid to live your passion, 2) getting to live your passion for free or 3) getting to live your passion for a discount. All three in our books are a win!
