Here’s where Toronto’s 9 immunization centres are for when the vaccine is widely available

If you had told us two years ago that the number one thing we’d be looking forward to in 2021 would be walking into a clinic and having a needle stuck in our arm, we’d have told you you were crazy. But here we are, excited as ever at the prospect of the COVID-19 vaccine becoming widely available.

The City of Toronto just announced that nine immunization centres are being prepped and readied for when that day comes. The new was dropped earlier this week, and let us tell ya, we’re pretty darn pumped.

So the locations of the immunization centres will be as follows:

  1. Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 255 Front St. W.
  2. Toronto Congress Centre, 650 Dixon Rd.
  3. Malvern Community Recreation Centre, 30 Sewells Rd.
  4. The Hangar, 75 Carl Hall Rd.
  5. Scarborough Town Centre, 300 Borough Dr.
  6. Cloverdale Mall, 250 The East Mall
  7. Mitchell Field Community Centre, 89 Church Ave.
  8. North Toronto Memorial Community Centre, 200 Eglinton Ave. W.
  9. Carmine Stefano Community Centre, 3100 Weston Rd.

Although the clinics are not open just yet, the news release states that they’re hoping to be operational by early April. It seems we’re just waiting for the vaccine supply to be re-established and for direction from the provincial government.

Once the centres are up and running, they’ll be open seven days a week for nine hours a day. The city’s estimation is that around 120,000 COVID-19 vaccinations will be administered per week.

So hang tight, people. Because hope is on the horizon.
