Here’s what to know about Fort Edmonton Park reopening!

We’ve got something big coming this week, folks! After years of renovations and upgrades, Fort Edmonton Park is slated to officially reopen on Thursday, July 1st! The $165 million project fully shut down the park for pretty much all of 2020, but is finally complete. And, we’re here to let you know what to expect.

The project has three major parts. First up, the midway is getting refreshed and new attractions have been added. Think things like a new Ferris wheel, a funhouse, and a new exhibit called the ‘Cabinet of Curios’, which is a custom sideshow featuring ‘screams, tricks and other cool effects’.

Next up is a new signature exhibit called The Indigenous Peoples Experience. The exhibit will educate visitors on First Nations and Metis history, using narrators, exhibits, and audio-visual guides. Plus, the new buildings look pretty darn amazing, so this it’s going to be a welcome addition.

Finally, the visitor centre has gotten a complete overhaul. Here, you can look forward to a new cafe and a gift shop, plus a nice entry plaza to relax in. You know, just in case you want to hang out a little after your visit.
