Something extra cool is going down in Winthrop this weekend. In fact, the Winthrop Balloon Roundup is taking place in just a few days. While we cannot recommend traveling at the moment, if you happen to be in the area you’ll definitely want to check it out.
The Winthrop Balloon Roundup takes place over 3 days with balloons launching every morning. It’s an amazing and honestly pretty rare experience to see hot air balloons in flight. Because let’s face it, you don’t see them out much anymore.
Plus it gets extra points for running during the colder months, as most hot air balloon festivals take place in summer.

That means you can also take advantage of winter sports in the area while checking out the event. But it is worth mentioning that the official event is restricted to 200 viewers. However, the balloons will be visible from pretty much anywhere in Winthrop.
