This Toronto airport hangar has a skating rink & it’s free to use

DJ Skate Nights are back at Toronto’s Downsview Airport as part of the ‘Hangar Skate’ series. Expect some of the best tunes, delicious eats, and free skating, every Friday night.

Starting January 19th from 6 PM to 9 PM, DJ Skate Nights welcomes all to enjoy an evening of skating under a canopy of interactive lights, right in front of the airplane hangars, every Friday until March 17th.

Local community radio station VIBE 105 will be spinning the tunes all night long as you skate or learn to skate courtesy of Peak Performance.

Two skate instructors will be on the ice, on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 PM to 5 PM to teach you the basics.

If you don’t have any, adults can rent a pair of skates for $5 for adults while children under 12 years old can get a pair to rent for free.

Take a break and enjoy eats by local Downsview restaurant Emporio De Los Sandwiches and fuel up.

Tickets are required for reservation purposes but don’t worry, they’re free.

This is just one of the many skating experiences happening in the city. Besides our beloved skating rinks, there’s also a four-night skating experience at College Park starting this February.

Looks like this winter is about to be a busy one.

When: Every Friday starting January 19th, 2024 until March 17th, 2024 from 6 PM to 9 PM
