If you’re passionate about protecting our national parks and showcasing their natural wonders, Parks Canada may have just the job for you.
Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve in BC is in search of a Visitor Experience Manager who is passionate about the development of new visitor experience opportunities, and who is committed to protecting the reserve’s Haida culture and heritage.
According to the job listing, Visitor Experience Managers are responsible for managing a range of activities, programs, services, and facilities. This includes welcoming visitors and helping them discover what makes the national park so culturally significant.
For those who don’t know, Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve is home to ancient Haida village sites containing some of the richest Indigenous history in the province. This includes the long-uninhabited 19th-century Haida village of SG̱ang Gwaay (formerly known as “Ninstints”).
The national park consists of lush rainforest, wild beaches, and a mix of fallen and standing totem poles and longhouses.
According to Parks Canada, there are no roads into Gwaii Haanas. So if you’re looking for a place to live and work that’s away from city life, this is a great option.
