Toronto’s entertainment scene is growing! A brand new resort and casino is coming to the region this summer and here’s everything you need to know about the exciting development.
Gaming and hospitality team, Great Canadian Entertainment announced back in March, that it will bring a first-of-its-kind entertainment resort to Toronto. Though at the time we did not have an opening date, in its most recent update, we now know when it’s slated to open and more.
The Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto will open its doors to its brand-new, modern casino and multiple restaurants at 5 PM on June 20th, 2023. It will be located at the intersection of Highways 401 and 427, sprawling over 33 acres of land adjacent to Woodbine Racetrack.

The massive complex will have 328,000 square feet of gaming space, with over 4,800 slot machines and 145 table games, exclusive VIP rooms, and state-of-the-art sports betting kiosks. With those numbers, it will be the largest casino in Canada and one of the largest in North America.
Expect a Vegas-style casino with a 400-room hotel, a 5,000-person live entertainment venue, and a selection of on-site dining options.

For now, the existing Casino Woodbine will continue to operate until Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto opens.
