GoodLife Fitness ‘tentatively’ reopening across Alberta next week

Big news Alberta! Now, this isn’t government official yet, but those who miss hitting the gym without a trainer might be able to do exactly that come Monday. In an email sent to subscribers today, GoodLife Fitness announced today that in hopes of the province moving to phase two, they will be tentatively opening all clubs at 12:15 on March 1st.

Earlier this month, Premier Jason Kenney introduced a step-by-step plan to reopen the economy. When and how we move forward will be based on a 3-week reevaluation of how many people are hospitalized in Alberta.

This upcoming Monday marks 21 days since we moved into the first phase meaning things like hotels, banquet halls, and of course, gyms may be given a little more wiggle room to operate.

“GoodLife is fully committed to abiding by all government regulations,” they said in a release. “In the event that the Alberta government does not confirm we can reopen by 12:15 pm on Monday, we will delay our reopening until the new confirmed date/time.”

It is important to note, however, that as of right now we have not received any heads-up from the government’s communications department regarding a conference, but we think that we can expect more information over the weekend.

Until then, keep your fingers crossed and we’ll do the same. This could be major!
