Get out & win prizes during this Calgary wide-scavenger hunt this weekend

COVID restrictions are fierce and cabin fever is all too common. With most dreading the weeks ahead, two YYC organizations have taken it upon themselves to entertain the masses, and we could not be more grateful. Start your engines, Calgary because a city-wide scavenger hunt is coming and things are about to get competitive.

Organized by Parks Calgary in cooperation with PlayCity, a friendship finder app that connects people with the same interests (how clever!), YYC will challenge those looking to get out and about to a game of wit, speed, and problem-solving.

So how do you play? Well, the rules are simple friends!

According to the PlayCity Instagram, every Saturday Morning a postcard will be hidden in one of Calgary’s Parks. Shortly after, a video of the location will be featured on IGTV. Hints will also be given throughout the day, but it will be up to you to find the area, the card, and to snap then post a picture of the card to your socials. Tag @PlayCityApp and #PlayCityHideAndSeek for your chance to win, and voila!

Winners will be chosen by a random draw – however, whoever finds it first and those who find it before the 3 PM hint video will receive more entries, improving their chances of collecting a prize. Points will also be awarded and posted to their leaderboard so you can see how you’re doing in comparison to everyone else, giving those who dominate bragging rights whether they walk away with something or not.
