There will be free sunscreen dispensers at these Toronto parks this summer (MAP)

Summer is here, and the sun is shining! While it is a great time to sit outside and enjoy the sunny days, the City of Toronto wants you to do so safely. That’s why it’s bringing back its collaboration to deliver free sunscreen at Toronto parks this summer.

According to the City, it is collaborating with the David Cornfield Melanoma Fund, the Douglas Wright Foundation and Shoppers Drug Mart to deliver the “#BeSunSafe program”, which aims to help prevent skin cancer by providing sunscreen and an opportunity to take a break in the shade to people enjoying some of Toronto’s parks, and raising awareness about sun protection.

Starting later this month, the touchless sunscreen dispensers will be available at 75 locations in City parks along the waterfront, from Marie Curtis Park in the west to Bluffers Park in the east as well as in High Park.

The sunscreen provided in the #BeSunSafe dispensers is SPF 30, broad spectrum (UVA/UVB), PABA-free, paraben-free, scent-free and mineral-based.

This map shows you where you will find the free sunscreen dispensers in Toronto:

“Although preventable, skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canada. Protecting your skin in the sun is the best way to reduce your risk of skin cancer,” said Danielle Paterson, Executive Director, David Cornfield Melanoma Fund and representative for the Douglas Wright Foundation.

“The #BeSunSafe program provides important sun protection and skin cancer prevention awareness. We are proud to empower Torontonians to be safe.”

With 75 locations, hopefully it will be easy to find one close to you as you head out to enjoy the summer!

Stay safe, Toronto.
