It’s almost TIFF season here in Toronto! The star-studded annual festival is taking over our city this September, and it’s inviting movie lovers and celeb-spotters back to its vibrant outdoor celebration, called TIFF Festival Street.
Festival Street will occupy a large stretch of King Street outside of the TIFF Bell Lightbox theatre, from Peter Street to University Avenue.
The family-friendly street festival will be celebrating all things film and will feature free live performances, movie screenings, outdoor art installations, and an all-new block party!
Kicking things off on September 7th is a Night of Jazz, with a lineup of talented musicians on the Festival Street Music Stage.
Next up, Nickelback will be taking the stage! The famous Canadian rock band has a documentary premiering at TIFF this year, and they’re celebrating with a free concert on September 8th.
Also returning is the open-air Cinema Park at David Pecaut Square, where a variety of blockbuster films will be playing for free.
The film fest is teaming up with Snapchat to host the TIFF Next Wave Block Party on September 9th, featuring performances and guest appearances by Stranger Things stars, as well as a Festival Street Art Market.
The first three days of the festival will feature a street art mural project, and there will also be an art exhibition, a 30-minute morning movement practice in David Pecaut Square, and five vendors by BlackOwnedTO.

Festival Street will be open during the first few days of the festival, from opening day on September 7th to 10th.
The 11-day festival is known as the world’s largest public film festival and is attended by Hollywood’s top talent every year.
The festival schedule is packed full of international and Canadian film premieres, press and industry screenings, special events, and of course, red carpets.
The city also becomes a hot spot for celeb-spotting during TIFF, and there are several restaurants where you might spot a star or two while you dine.
