Ice Dragon Boat Festival

With a ‘pass the poutine contest,’ a beer garden and sleigh rides, Sylvan Lake’s Ice Dragon Boat Races kicks off this long weekend! This Family Day weekend, check out Alberta’s favourite Lake Town for a series of exciting events, fun activities and fresh air.

Immersive Disney Animation

This Family Day, the Edmonton EXPO Centre will host the Disney Animation: Immersive Experience and no matter your age, you won’t want to miss it! Brought to life by Lighthouse Immersive, the upcoming exhibit will make visitors “feel like they’ve entered the incredible worlds of beloved Disney characters,” and will celebrate the studio’s greatest hits like The Lion King and Frozen.

Muttart Observatory

This February has been chilly, but there’s no better way to avoid the cold than at the Muttart Conservatory. The indoor botanical garden is an urban oasis, offering nice, bright colours and a wide variety of plants to look at.

Silver Skate Festival

Edmonton’s longest-running winter festival is nearly here! This Family Day, check out the snow garden, go skating, hit the family fun zone or play some disc golf.

Alberta Museums

We love free! This long weekend, families will be able to learn from and explore some of Alberta’s very best and brightest spots for FREE! From the Royal Alberta Museum to the Lougheed House, the province will be offering free admission on Family Day.

Tubing at the Rabbit Hill Snow Resort

Hit the hills – even if you don’t ski or snowboard! Enjoy Family Day with the breeze on your face – or a face full of snow at Rabbit Hill Snow Resort. It’s going to be wild.

YEG Ice Fest

Sweet Treats Latte Festival
