The season of cozy coffee shop visits, changing colours, and fall fairs is underway, and there’s a mix of harvest festivals, craft markets, and arts events in Vancouver and beyond to keep on your radar. So why not celebrate autumn’s bounty and support local this season? Here are some of the biggest fall festivals to check out in and around Vancouver in the coming weeks.
Now in its 33rd year, the annual UBC Apple Fest is a two-day food fair with live entertainment and over 40 varieties of new & heritage BC apples available for tasting – all at the UBC Farm from 11 am to 4 pm.
When: Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th
Where: UBC Botanical Garden
Cost: $8-$9 for early bird pricing
It’s autumn season once again at VanDusen, and the beautiful gardens are celebrating with their annual Harvest Days festival, complete with access to the botanical gardens, maze area, and festive photo-op areas. Visitors can enjoy tasty seasonal treats, live entertainment throughout the garden, and of course, take pictures with all of the fun fall decor.
When: Weekends from Saturday, September 28th to October 20th, plus October 14th

Cost: $12 per adult
The 21st annual DTES Heart of the City Fest will feature over 100 local events guided by the common theme of ‘Threads of Connection,’ including live music, stories, poetry, theatre, ceremony, films, dance, readings, forums, workshops, discussions, gallery exhibits, art talks, history walks and more.
When: Wednesday, October 30th to Monday, November 10th
Where: 401 Main Street
Cost: Free admission
The beloved and iconic Eastside Culture Crawl is back this year with hundreds of presenting artists with open studios across Vancouver’s Eastside. So get ready to see and support the work of a variety of artists across all mediums, from paintings and sculptures and pottery to mixed media, furniture, and much more.
When: Thursday, November 14th to Sunday, November 17th
Where: Venues at Columbia Street, First Avenue, Victoria Drive, and the Waterfront
Cost: Free admission

From 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, October 5th, the Gardens at HCP in Victoria will transform for a full day of Harvest Fest festivities.
