Valentine’s Day is nearly here and while it may already be too late to book a weekend away, there’s no harm in bottling all the love (and knowledge) in the air about what’s hot and what’s not for northern couples. Surprisingly, while we’d like to think our country is a fairytale destination, only one Canadian spot was recently named among the most romantic hotels in the world.
Located in Banff, Alberta the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is what many consider to be magical.
Revered for a dramatic view of the mountains and one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, incredible restaurants, many pools, and the luxurious spa, it’s no surprise that they landed a top spot on Big 7 Travel’s 2022 ‘best of’ list alongside other notoriously dreamy destinations in Paris and Italy.

To compile this particular list, each hotel was given points for everything from critic reviews and location, atmosphere, presence, consistency, and customer testimonials
Based on how they scored in each category, Big 7 placed them in order of least to most romantic with Utah’s Amangiri: Canyon Point taking the top spot overall, which we’d imagine was a hard decision to make considering who else reigned supreme.
