Hey nice, the dates on our things to do this week in Edmonton end up being 7/11. You gotta celebrate the small victories, you know? Is a “things-to-do list” lining up with your preferred convenience store actually a small victory? We’re not sure, but we’re running with it.

Here are 8 things to do this week in Edmonton.

World of Dance Live Tour

The World of Dance Live Tour is stopping in Edmonton for one night only on Tuesday. See some absolutely incredible dancers, including the season 3 winners, The Kings.

When: Tuesday, October 8
Where: Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
Tickets: $52.75 and up

Lord Huron

The Californian indie rock band has held a special place in our hearts ever since they came out with Lonesome Dreams back in 2012. Ease gently into the colder weather by checking them out.

When: Wednesday, October 9
Where: Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
Tickets: $52.75

Halloween Cookie Decorating at SYC Brewing

The opportunity to drink great craft beer AND decorate cookies. Wow, why didn’t we think of that? That’s ok though, because SYC Brewing has everything you’ll need for a night of fun.

When: Wednesday, October 9
Where: SYC Brewing
Cost: $27

Com Truise

Self described as ‘slow motion funk’, Com Truise’s synth heavy tracks ride the line behind traditional electro and something completely different. Go get a little wavy this October.

When: Thursday, October 10
Where: The Station on Jasper
Tickets: $26.63

Toy Story 4: The IMAX Experience

If you feel like postponing spooky season, then this is the perfect way to do so. Catch Woody and the gang as they embark on yet another adventure. Of course, is thinking about toys having the ability to feel spooky in itself? We leave the answer up to you.

When: Thursday, October 10 and Friday, October 11
Where: Telus World of Science
Tickets: $9.95

Oh, you thought we wouldn’t include all the spooky stuff going down this month? Yeah right. DARK is Fort Edmonton’s transformation into a variety of haunted houses, roving entertainment, and scare zones. Scary!

When: Starts Thursday, October 10
Where: Fort Edmonton
Tickets: $40

Luke Combs

Luke Combs represents the return to the big, bad country superstars of the 90s. We guess that it’s long overdue, since the resale prices for a ticket to his sold out show at Rogers Place are sky high.

When: Friday, October 11
Where: Rogers Place
Tickets: $320 and up

Edmonton Rock and Gem Show

Need an orange tinted crystal to match the fall season? You are guaranteed to find one at this massive gem show. We’re going to try and find a dark brown crystal in the shape of an old coke bottle.

When: Starts Thursday, October 10
Where: Alberta Aviation Museum

There you have it, Edmonton! All of our top picks for the things to do this week in the city. We think we’re going to brave the first night of DARK, then regroup at Toy Story 4. How about you?
