It’s Sunday folks! And more importantly, this is our first list of things to do in Edmonton for the month of December! Are you ready for the city to be transformed into a winter wonderland? We are, and with this list, we’re going to make sure you are too.

Here are 8 things to do this week in Edmonton.

Serena Ryder

The singer behind the 2012 hit ‘Stompa’ has, in our eyes, turned into a female Michael Bublé. That is to say, she’s got staying power because of her incredible voice and isn’t afraid to tackle some Christmas tunes. Which, by the way, is exactly what’s happening at this concert.

When: Tuesday, December 3
Where: Winspear Centre
Tickets: $60 and up

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers have not one but two home games this week. Want to see some Canadian teams face off? Catch them against the Senators. Otherwise, they’re facing off against the Kings on Friday.

When: Wednesday, December 4 and Friday, December 6
Where: Rogers Place
Cost: $46.80 and up

The Nutcracker

The iconic Christmas play will be performed by the Alberta Ballet this year. It’s a staple, but it’s easily one of the best things to do in Edmonton this December. When’s the last time you saw the Nutcracker?

When: Shows start Wednesday, December 4
Where: Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
Cost: $82 and up

Edmonton Christmas Market

This ongoing Christmas market is perfect for gift shopping this season. Not only will some of Edmonton’s best vendors be around, but guests can also experience light displays, live entertainment, and delicious food and drink options.

When: Thursday to Saturday weekly until December 21
Where: ATB Place
Cost: $5

The Edmonton Valley Zoo is being taken over by artistic light installations and holiday cheer this month. Head down for an evening of light, hot chocolate, skating and of course, some adorable furry friends. Or cool snakes.

When: Friday, December 6
Where: Edmonton Valley Zoo
Cost: $30

Holiday Wine and Cheese Pairings

Tired of bringing Franzia and Cheez Whiz to Christmas parties? We’re sure the hosts are as well. Step your game up by trying 6 different wines alongside an assortment of cheeses to determine the best pairing for the office Christmas party.

When: Friday, December 6
Where: 6284 Currents Drive Northwest
Cost: $30

Glow Gardens

This massive holiday light festival is the perfect opportunity to get your photos out of the wa early. Explore light installations and enjoy a variety of themes throughout the festival.

When: On throughout the week
Where: Edmonton Expo Centre

Royal Bison Art and Craft Fair

This fair is perfect for getting holiday shopping done early, so we’re recommending you check it out if you missed the first instalment. Tons of vendors will be selling everything from prints to zines to woodworking projects. Yeah, it’s a mixed bag, and we’re here for it.

When: Starts Friday, December 6
Where: 8426 Gateway Boulevard
Cost: $3

And that’s our round up of the best things to do in Edmonton this week! Can you feel the holiday spirit seeping into your bones. No? Just the regular cold? Well, fair enough.
