Happy Thursday, everyone! It’s been a real scorcher of a week, and Mother Nature isn’t letting her foot off the gas for the weekend either. Luckily, there are tons of different ways to beat the heat and enjoy the city, you just have to look for them! Or, let us look for you.
Here are 8 things to do this weekend in Edmonton.
No matter what you do this weekend, make sure you carry a mask with you. On August 1st, a new bylaw comes into effect in Edmonton that requires masks to be worn in pretty much all indoor spaces with public access. That means malls, grocery stores, hair salons are all seeing the change.

The NHL Playoffs officially start in Edmonton this Saturday! The Oilers are facing off against the Blackhawks in the qualifying round, so you’re probably going to want some options to watch the game. Click the link above for a guide to great places to do just that.

The Edmonton Corn Maze has reopened for the summer! If you were looking for a great way to spend an afternoon, then look no further. Pretend you’re Theseus walking around the Labyrinth, and get another friend to be the Minotaur.

The results are in, and Alberta is home to 14 of the top 100 golf courses in Canada. What’s more- some of the absolute best are open to the public! But, we’re just going to take this as a reminder to hit out local course until we’re ready to drop the big bucks in the Rockies.

Four swimming pools around Edmonton have officially reopened with some new guidelines in place. If you wanted to enjoy some lap swimming or even just splashing around, you can now pencil it in! It’s too bad we’re more comfortable on ice than in water.

The Botanical Garden at the U of A is open for the summer! Head down and enjoy 25,000 different kinds of plants spread out over 240 acres. This might be one of the most fun places to play ‘I Spy’ in the city.
