8 things to do at home this weekend in Edmonton (March 27-29)
Hello, Edmonton! Welcome to another roundup of the best things to do in the city this weekend. If you haven’t already discovered, these past few weeks have been extra fun for us. Why? Well, without our regularly scheduled programming, our picks can get weird.
Here are 8 things to do this weekend in Edmonton.
Do you know that Nat Geo actually has ‘adventurers and explorers’ on their payroll? While we wait for our job offer, we’re going to practice online using a pretty fun little Google Earth feature, which allows us to see some of the world’s best wildlife habitats.
By buying their produce! Easy peasy! No seriously, click the link above to check out The Organic Box, an Albertan company that connects us with farmers throughout the province. Considering a fair portion of a farm’s (especially organic ones) income comes from farmer’s markets and restaurants, this option for groceries should definitely be checked out.
Go all out on breakfast in bed
Earlier today, we wrote an article about one of our favourite spots, OEB, starting up a delivery service. Well, now the thought’s in our head. Whatever you’re craving for breakfast, see what DoorDash and other food delivery services have available. Giant, pillowy French Toast made be someone who can actually boil water? We’re in awe.
You’re in luck, friend! Crave announced that they are extending their free trial to 30 days, up from 7. Know what that gives you? More than enough time to crush a couple of HBO Series. We’re always looking for bargains around these parts.
Which, just so happens to be available for free online. And as an added bonus it’s not some ornithology course. Nope, this one is all about the Science of Well-Being. Sounds like a perfect thing to dip our toes into this weekend.
Let’s face it, one of the biggest names of 2020 is going to be Tiger King. Learn about Joe Exotic on an absolute thrill ride of a docuseries, then check out the rest of our picks. (Yes, we have great taste, we know)
Once you’re down that rabbit hole, you may as well. And thanks to Libby, it’s easier than ever to access libraries all across North America. Next stop, four hours reading about the loss of the Barbary lion! Yeah, bet you didn’t know that an entire region lost its lion population as late as the 60s. Crazy world.
Each week, we’re realizing how important this is, so it’s sticking around. A lot of independent businesses are going to be under pretty intense financial stress for a while. So if you’ve got some spending money, support them. Order takeout/delivery, buy that shirt off Etsy, get a book delivered from a local store… whatever it is, your extra buck or two is more important than ever.
And that’s our roundup of the best things to do in Edmonton this weekend! Make sure you’re staying safe out there first and foremost! We can provide the entertainment.
