8 things to do at home and around Edmonton this weekend (May 22-24)
Howdy folks, and welcome to the latest roundup of the stuff we think you should do this weekend in Edmonton. And frankly, you’ve got options. The whole ‘reopening Alberta’ has really, well, opened up Alberta. So whatever you’re feeling this weekend, we think we’ve got you covered.
Here are 8 things to do this weekend at home and around Edmonton.
TREAT YOURSELF TO A NICE MEAL
Restaurants across the city are opening up over the next few weeks. Stay tuned for a quick list of the ones that we’ve got our eyes on, but in the meantime, check in with your go-to! We’re sure they would love a little support right now.
Lucky for us, museums and art galleries also reopened last week! Whether you want to swing by a private gallery or are ready to return to the Royal Alberta Museum, these options are now available! Have fun and learn a couple of things.
Is this a real recommendation or did we just want to reference an iconic song? No matter, because the Royal Tyrrell Museum officially reopens to the public this weekend. We consider it a ‘must-visit’ Albertan attraction, so maybe this is the weekend you check it out.
Alberta Parks have reopened for day use, so if you’re craving a hike you’re good to go! But, we implore you to not block roadways, since that was apparently running rampant last week. Enjoy the great outdoors, but do so safely please.
Why not spend these days expanding your mind? There are tons of super addictive docuseries out on Netflix right now. And these ones are sure to keep you entertained.
Tour Animal Crossing Islands on Youtube
We don’t know about you guys but quarantine has definitely brought us back to playing some of our favourite games. And well we’ve been blown away by the creativity of players in Animal Crossing New Horizons. That being said, we haven’t seen anyone who’s designed an island that looks like Edmonton…
If you’re up for it, a fair number of retail stores across the city have reopened. So, if you really wanted to see how that new shirt fit before buying it, you can now go check it out (safely) in-store. Not a bad deal!
Yup, we think you should get your groceries from the farmers’ market this weekend. Not only are you getting the best price on local products, but you’re also directly supporting the farming community. We’re big fans of win-win deals like that.
And that’s our roundup of the best things to do at home and around Edmonton this weekend! We hope you enjoy it, folks!
