Happy Thursday, everyone! We hope that you’ve had a good week so far, and are ready for another weekend of things to do in Edmonton. With the weather continuing to warm up, we’re hoping that this is just the start of a phenomenal spring filled with activities.

Here are 10 things to do in Edmonton this weekend.

DO SOME DOME DINING

The latest dome dining experience in Edmonton switches up the chefs each week for extra excitement. This weekend, enjoy the cooking of Edgar Gutierrez, Roel Canafranca, and Ariel Del Rosario from Filistix and Kanto98 St. Eatery.

When: Weekends until April 11th
Where: Victoria Golf Course, 12130 River Valley Rd NW
Cost: $125 per person

CHECK OUT NEW PUBLIC ART

Some absolutely massive inflatable sculptures have arrived in downtown Edmonton. Reaching up to 12 metres high, these gentle giants are a nod to a 1973 animated movie called Fantastic Planet. Check them out as they playfully explore and lounge around.

When: On until April 12th
Where: Locations around downtown Edmonton

OR AN OPEN-AIR MUSEUM EXHIBIT

Restoring a bunch of neon signs and installing them downtown was a pretty cool move, in our opinion. Plus, they’d pair very well with a frosty evening stroll, so grab a coffee nearby and make the most of it! It’s an easy thing to do, and a great excuse to get out of the house.

When: Throughout January
Where: Mercer Warehouse, South Wall
Cost: Free

TRY A TOP-RATED RESTAURANT

Yelp’s recent list of the top places to try in Edmonton this year is a far cry from ‘insider’ lists, but we think that’s a good thing. After all, you don’t have to spend a ton of money to get amazing food, you just have to know where to go. So, consider this like a cheat code to get you started.

HIT THE DRIVING RANGE

We’re sure the golf enthusiasts are way ahead of us here, but driving ranges around the city are starting to open once more. We think Alberta is actually one of the best places in Canada to be a golfer, thanks to our serious mix of foothills and prairies. But for now, get a few warm up buckets in while you wait.

When: Now open
Where: 13510 Ellerslie Road SW
Cost: Varies

WATCH A LOCAL DOCUMENTARY

Snow Warrior was just released by the National Film Board of Canada for free! The short documentary follows a bike courier named Mariah as she prepares herself for a day of deliveries in the heart of winter. Good visuals, plus it offers a neat glimpse into the subculture.

SCARE A FEW COYOTES

With proper training, of course. The University of Alberta is looking for volunteers to help with a study of ‘adverse conditioning’ for urban coyotes in Edmonton. The best part? Some lucky individuals will be given an umbrella with the face of a wolf on it to scare ’em.

ZOOM AROUND ON SOME GO-KARTS

While you can’t pubstomp some 12-year-olds, we think that a trip to the new DRIVE Go-Kart track in West Ed is a solid idea. You can book the entire thing for a heavily discounted price, but, the catch is that everyone needs to be from the same household. Good idea for families or those with multiple roommates.

When: Reservations daily
Where: Inside West Edmonton Mall
Cost: $249 for 2 private races

GO ON A MINI ROAD TRIP

Without a doubt, Edmonton wipes the floor with Calgary when it comes to nearby roadside attractions. If you’re looking to go for a Sunday morning cruise, then maybe swing by some of the craziest ones in the province. Sure, everyone knows about the Giant Perogy, but what about a Giant Bee?

EATS ON 118TH

Here’s another food festival to check out this month. This one, however, has some heartier options. The participating restaurants are offering meal deals priced at $15-$25. The list and menus are definitely worth checking out if you’re craving something new next month.

When: Now on!
Where: Along Alberta Avenue

That’s what we’ve got for you this weekend, folks! Enjoy yourselves out there.
