We’ll be the first to admit that the 50/50 raffles got out of hand for the Oilers. But, we’re also thinking that the new one from the Edmonton Valley Zoo is worth a look. Why? Because it doubles as a fundraiser for the zoo’s global conservation efforts. Let’s check it out!

It’s called the Saving Species Fundraiser. From now until November 1st, Albertan residents can buy tickets to get in on the action. And while one half goes to the lucky winner, the other will be put towards conservation efforts for the animal of their choice.

If you do buy a ticket, you’ll be asked to support the amur tiger, the northern leopard frog or the lemur. It’s a toss-up, but we’d pick the frog because they are both very sensitive to habitat changes and also come across as incredibly powerful beings. That’s just our opinion, though.

Anyway, you can click here to buy a raffle ticket and support the Edmonton Zoo’s conservation efforts. The total pool is capped at $20,000, so get ’em before they’re gone!
