We’re honestly surprised to hear that an auction hosted by an Albertan company is going to be the first of its kind in the country. Turns out, the upcoming Iron Gate auction is the first national fine wine auction in Canada, skirting around resale laws in certain provinces. Here’s a quick rundown.
Iron Gate is taking advantage of Alberta’s private resale laws, which are looser than those in provinces like BC or Ontario. What’s more, the auction promises to take care of shipping, and covers all of Canada’s major cities. The wines have been sourced from all around Canada, with a variety of labels included.

We’re not going to claim that we’re wine experts, but even we recognize names like Petrus, Margaux, and Mouton Rothschild. However, not all the lots come with sky-high price tags. In fact, estimates start around $50 a bottle. You’ve got to buy like 4/5 bottles for the lot, but hey, you’re a wine person now.
