We’ll be honest with you and say that December is not the best month for concerts in Edmonton. Heck, it might even be the worst month for them. But! We work tirelessly for you here at Curiocity and have picked a few that will be more than worth your while.

Here are the best Edmonton concerts in December.

Serena Ryder

The singer behind the 2012 hit ‘Stompa’ has, in our eyes, turned into a female Michael Bublé. That is to say, she’s got staying power because of her incredible voice and isn’t afraid to tackle some Christmas tunes. Which, by the way, is exactly what’s happening at this concert.

When: December 3
Where: Winspear Centre
Tickets: $60 and up

Hockey Dad

Australian surf rock has never disappointed us. And, Hockey Dad has one of those sounds that reflects the best of the genre. They’re equal parts reserved and energetic, and we can get down with it.

When: December 11
Where: The Starlite Room
Tickets: $17

Boney M

Ok, if we were excited about the Serena Ryder concert then we’re jumping off the walls for Boney M. We don’t care what you say, these folks put out the definitive Christmas album, and you can hear it live this December.

When: December 12
Where: River Cree Resort and Casino
Tickets: $140 and up

Kacy & Clayton

If you’re wondering what happened to Americana and psych-rock, then this is the concert for you. This duo combines Kacy’s gorgeous voice with Clayton’s guitar skills, and boy, are the results impressive. Like “is this the 70s in San Francisco?” impressive.

When: December 13
Where: The Starlite Room
Tickets: $19.99

The Funk Hunters

This Vancouver duo is coming to Funk the Halls in Edmonton. While we’re not exactly sure what that entails, we’re confident that holiday music and funk is going to be a fantastic way to get your energy up for Christmas.

When: December 13
Where: Union Hall
Tickets: $41.04

Get Together

An electronic music festival in between Christmas and New Year’s? Sure, why not? You might as well buy a two-day pass, since you’ll be able to see some of the biggest names in the game (Kaskade, REZZ, San Holo…) in one convenient setting!

When: December 26 and December 27
Where: Edmonton Convention Centre
Tickets: $130 plus fees for a 2-day pass

BOTNEK

Want to a attend a concert on New Year’s Eve? Look no further than this Canadian house duo. They’ll definitely bring the energy needed for you to dance into 2020. We can’t think of a more fitting entrance.

When: December 31
Where: The Starlite Room
Tickets: $35

And there you have it! Honestly, we think that there are more than a couple of December concerts in Edmonton that you can have a great time at. Personally, we’re sold on Hockey Dad.
