Alright folks, SONiC Field Day returns to Edmonton this weekend for a second year, and will be bringing some fantastic music to Hawrelak Park. If you’re on the fence about going, then maybe these 5 artists can convince you to attend.

Here are 5 artists to check out during SONiC Field Day.

The Beaches

The all female band hailing out of Toronto has got a vibrant, in your face sound. Fortunately for us, it’s neatly packaged, with some electronic touches in there for good measure.

Sam Roberts Band

A Canadian rock staple for decades, Sam Roberts is definitely the main draw for most people. We can’t blame them either- we’re pretty excited to hear ‘Where Have All the Good People Gone’ and ‘Hard Road’ live.

Hannah Georgas

Moody and expansive, Hannah Georgas’ sound is going to be great for those looking for a relaxing break for an otherwise rock-heavy lineup.

Said the Whale

The Vancouver based band has been continuously reinventing their sound over the years. Their most recent album, though, is a great representation of West Coast living.

July Talk

While Blues-rock might be the best way to describe this band, it certainly is not all-encompassing. So, we’d like to draw attention to the unique sound generated by the lead vocalists Peter Dreimanis and Leah Fay.

And there you have it Edmonton! 5 artists we think you should check out this weekend. Hopefully we’ve convinced that it’s worth the price of admission, because we’d hate for you to miss this opportunity.
