Wow, we did not expect that the Oilers would take three games to already hit the limit on 50/50 tickets while smashing to grand prize record. That’s right- as of right now, the 50/50 draw for tonight’s game is already sitting at a whopping $5.4 million dollars.

Which means that it hit the cap within half of a day! The tickets went on sale at 9 AM, and at the time of writing (like 2:30 PM), they were already sold out. For reference, usually, the sales are open until 10:30 PM on game day.

Know what else it means? That this train isn’t slowing down anytime soon. We have a feeling that the 50/50 draws will now either clear a few million or get sold out every game day. That’s like 2 or 3 lotteries a week while they’re playing, folks!

Plus, half the money goes to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, which focuses on ‘programs that support health and wellness, education and minor hockey programming for youth’. That’s a win-win in our books!
