Welcome to the start of the week, Edmonton! We’ve got a doozy of one to look forward to since St. Patrick’s Day lands on Wednesday this week! While we can’t suggest that you meet up with a bunch of friends at your local pub, you’ve still got some options on the plate. So, let’s check them out!

Here are 7 options for St. Patrick’s Day in Edmonton this year.

Mercer Tavern

Even with public restrictions in place, you’ve still got a few options for dinner and a drink out on the town this week. Your first option is Mercer Tavern, which is promising enough giveaways that every reservation gets something. Plus, beer and Jameson will be on special.

Where: 10363 104th Street

Central Social Hall

Central Social Hall is in the same category as Mercer Tavern for us this year. While not traditionally Irish, you’ve got great specials ($5 stout on tap and pickleback shots) to enjoy. Plus, they’re keeping the half-priced wings deal alive. It lands on a Wednesday, after all.

Where: 10909 Jasper Avenue

Duggan’s Boundary Irish Pub

This is a neighbourhood Irish pub, there’s no doubt about it. And while you can’t meet up with a bunch of friends there, it would be the most authentic option for those looking for a nice meal and a beer to go with it. Plus, they’ll be live-streaming a Celtic music concert.

Where: 9013 88 Avenue NW

Ohana Donuterie

One of our favourite spots for sweet treats in the city is joining in on the fun. All week long, Ohana has got a green donut on special. And, while not really an Irish touch, we do love the addition of some green frog gummies on top.

St. Paddy’s Day Virtual Celebration

If dinner out isn’t really your speed right now, don’t worry. This virtual celebration is one of many happening on Wednesday. But, we like that this one is by donation, and has a long list of traditional and folk performers lined up. Mix it in while you make Irish potatoes at home.

St. Patrick’s Festival

Speaking of festival options, you should know about the biggest in the world this year. The whole of Ireland worked out a virtual version of its famous St. Patrick’s celebrations, and they left no stone unturned (or unkissed?). There are over 100 events to choose from, ranging from massive virtual parades to live-streamed concerts.
